BREAKFAST AT TIFFANY’S – OH THOSE PEARLS!
What a lovely movie to watch for Valentines Day, one of my all-time favourites. I do love reflecting on some of the most iconic woman of all time wearing pearls. Audrey Hepburn certainly fits this category and is a known legend for not only her movie career but all her charitable work for the poorer nations around the world.
Her most famous role of course would notably be Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s.
The famous opening scene with her strolling around in a Givenchy little black dress, a coffee cup, a brown paper-bagged breakfast and OH THOSE PEARLS became nothing short of a pop culture. A beautiful ensemble made by Roger Scemama with strand upon strand of long pearls clasped at the front with diamonds and draped down her back. Just so beautiful.
Released in 1961, Breakfast at Tiffany’s was an instant success and it’s popularity remains to this day. Although it is a love story of a call girl and a self loathing writer/gigolo, most fans chose to overlook these things and opt for the romance.
A fun-filled romantic comedy for all the lovers out there, especially on Valentines Day.
